Twice in a weeks window.

19:12 Oct 30 2008
Times Read: 805

The second time in a weeks window, I have let myself escalate a near violent action against me. I tend to engage disruptive people that are affecting a group. last night I did it for a second time. about a week ago, I involved myself (as peanut gallery) in an outbreak by a female, and the group she was in, the Rant was bleeding into the group I was in, so I made verbal barbs, until she turned her attention on me, then I Boldly faced her down, one of the males (drawn by her charms) assumed the defender of her honor (keep in mind she had slapped him without provocation just moments before the situation became a rant). He went ballistic, threatening to hit me with his skate board, seeking aleinces in the crowd, even the female involved let it all go.

Then last night an older aquantance (once friend) was boasting of high quality product (Weed) and his proxy to people we associated with was determental to use. If he sold low quality weed to anybody we knew it would have a bad effect on us. So I mentioned that he not press the issue, someone had told him his stuff was worthless, he was drunk so he went on and on, finally I monologued him. He responded by removing his back pack, and searching for his knife.. how odd once again I failed to get as excited by the situation. I need to learn to be less involved in such things, or reset my effectiveness with pressing buttons.

An interesting find while surfing

An Interesting find while surfing.

Found at the Hoax Museum

Quarantine

What would you be willing to do for a brief shot at fame? Would you embarrass yourself on national TV? Of course, who wouldn't nowadays. But would you lock yourself in a lab and allow yourself to be exposed to all manner of infectious diseases? That sounds a bit dodgy, but this was the premise of the new reality TV show, Quarantine, recently advertised in the Daily Mirror. Remarkably, hundreds of people applied to be on it, and the applications are still rolling in. Thankfully the whole thing was a hoax, an experiment "to discover just how far people will go in their pursuit of fame." (Thanks, 'Ed the doc').

A Fine Line

20:00 Oct 17 2008
Times Read: 874

The fine line. Between those that bring up religion to discuss, or share, and those that don't just want people to accept/respect their beliefs.. but what others to be in awe at their esoteric knowledge of their religion. Every conversation is a sermon turned debate with these people. If they are not trying to convert a person they are attempting to "stump" them on their understanding of some aspect of their belief/lack of belief. Anchoring whole discourse on a religious, political,or even sports.. is just retarded.. actually retarded. Not to mention a social choker/cope out. Yea we all got an assurance in our after life, some really are not interested in your alleged special connection with your high power/mystic forces, though some of us can imagine things that would appear to be mystical, or phenomenal. We call it fantasy, I would like to see some creative writing about such things, instead of rehashed fiction presented as fact.

I don't try to convert anyone. I wouldn't want everyone to be just like me. There'd be no spice in this world.

I do however, have a problem with people basically telling me I am a dumb-ass for thinking the way I do. I'd prefer those personal "I Believe" statements I posted about in my journal. Because it seems if you do have a strong spirtual belief, you are targetted as misguided. I never tell Atheists that. You have to wonder where the closed mind is, and where the evangelizing is... look at how the religious get preached and pitched on science in the forum. Were being told we are clueless. And you couldn't get more spiritually liberal than me.

I don't want to live in a world where an equation can be atrributed to everything.

I understand those that find an assurance in faith, it is the sensationalist that get to me. The constant need to have others validate their faith. I find the only people I share with are those that I want to let know I have a way out. Because when we die, those we leave behind need to know that we have an accepted assurance of passing.

Even George Carlin said, "I feel we go out in a Hum, all our life we charge our final Hum." Paraphrase.

People will press their faith on others, and people will press back with their disbelief. Not all religious/non religous people are "cracked pots". But sadly the ones that are stand out, among those with a core accepted belief, I find some believers/nonbelievers avoid such people as well. fanaticism, and Sensationalism, are prevalent in more concepts then religion, and politics. Thank you for your comment.

Firstly, George Carlin rules and always will... secondly...

True faith needs no validation, it simply 'is'. I'm not for those that try to shove things down my throat, that is why I am an Episcopalian :P It makes it hard being a Christian when so many others that claim it are twisting it and uncomfortably preaching it. I also grew up with a mother that always threw New Age stuff at me and force fed it. It's all about personalities. Confident people need not try and make everyone else follow in complete suit with them.

I am not saying Episcopalians are the only ones that are right, I mention it jokingly as we have the freedom in our sect to believe what we want- only few 'musts'.

A Flash Back

00:32 Oct 11 2008
Times Read: 908

I was treated to a Flash back by Oceanne.. Back when I played Dungeons and Dragons, I was a DM (Dungeon master) and I could always spot a person that simply put boasted a bigger game then they could play. Lacking any basic knowledge about game function, they would impress upon those that actually played regularly their characters supremacy, an account that would grow with each inquiry.. some would even go so far as to present skillfully created character sheets.. chalked full of special weapons, talents, and maxed out in every character status.

It always carried over to the persons general social interactions as well. When Role Playing geeks, loose interest in someone.. one can only wonder how others accept them.

Annoying People

21:18 Oct 10 2008
Times Read: 919

Annoying People are Annoying, because they are Annoying. They have a goal to be the center of attention, yet they have nothing but superficial social skills to offer those who give them their attention.

It is not uncommon for these people to delve into some fringe fad, not for the purpose of learning to enrich themselves, but to have a spring board to launch into an "engaging conversation" which involves them spouting off their accepted position on the topic. Once a person notices the self centered sermon, the argument phase is initiated. This is when the person thinks or states, "You are against my beliefs." When actually, it is because the person is annoying.

Spooky Posers

The actual practice of attempting to capture ghosts on film dates back nearly a century and a half to around 1861. Not surprisingly, this type of photography has been controversial and the subject of much debate ever since.

A very good article, one that will give pause to skeptic, and Believer alike.

Focused Tension Release

What you will need:

One or more Sling shots (Wrist Rockets are best)

A box of 68 caliber paintballs (The more people playing, the cheaper the balls)

An open area with available targets.

For a more game based system stay tuned, for simple entry level, just

cinch a round (a paintball) into the pouch, two fingers over the top, and the thumb, underneath. (do not hold by the side, the ball will goo you.) Pull until tense aim and release the tension toward target, repeat as necessary.

Note although it is not advisable to every target a person, this can be tempting, if the temptation s mutual then by all means use a face protection device.

Is it so not even funny how people attempt to stump those that are over all the mystic bullshi*? It becomes more obvious their intent every time. They want people to first accept the belief, second to accept that the person making the claim can manipulate the "mystic forces". Here's an idea, why not just come straight out and announce that you are an entertainer? Oh I know then they are likely to point out that you are not very entertaining, it is all showmanship, The occult has contributed nothing to society and it never will. Aside from parlor entertainment.
